one of earth’s rad enigmas, lenticular clouds are stationary, lens-shaped clouds that form at high altitudes where stable moist air flows over a mountain or a range of mountains. their characteristic lens-shape forms a smooth saucer-like silhouette that often reflects bright colors along their edges. because of their unusual and particular shape, they’ve often been mistaken for (or been used to explain away) ufo sightings.
