the richat structure, known as the “eye of africa,” is an eroded circular formation of layered sedimentary rocks in the middle of the sahara. in the midst of the vast, featureless desert, the eye can actually be seen via satellite from space (it appears like a bulls-eye). it’s still a mystery how this formation was created, but it’s something i wouldn’t mind exploring some day. new collection inspiration, perhaps?
