been reading more about Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee lately. so inspiring.

she led the women’s peace movement that facilitated the end of the Second Liberian Civil war, which then led to the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.  This made Liberia the first African nation with a female president. she was also awarded 2011 nobel peace prize (along with Sirlead and Tawakkul Karman) for her work. 

non-violent struggle for the safety of women’s rights. this woman is incredible.
