  4. punk rock feminist icon and memoirist ALICE BAG (best known for fronting popular LA band The Bags) is speaking tonight at bluestockings bookstore/cafe in manhattan. 

    she’s been one of the most influential women in the American punk scene, from her early days in L.A. in the 70s to her current role as an informal biographer/historian of female perspective and contribution to the evolution of punk music. 

    pretty sure she’s got some cool stuff to say. she’ll be reading from her book, “Violence Girl.” the reading is free and starts at 7 tonight.
